The Me God Wants Me to Be
First Things First
Father, I thank You for choosing me before the foundation of the world and revealing to me who Jesus is. I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. Jesus is my Lord, and I choose to believe that He will do what He said He will do. You rescued me from the power of darkness and drew me into the kingdom of the Son of Your Love. Your kingdom is in me. I am in Christ, and He is in me. My identity is in Him, the One who is transforming me into my true self—the child-of-God self. I love You because You first loved me, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, I choose to love others as I love myself. I long to know the wonders of Jesus more fully and to experience the overflowing power of His resurrection working in me. Grant me the discernment to make choices that will honor and glorify You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Growing in Wisdom
Father, as I approach another important decision of study and/or career, I ask for the ability to understand words of insight and to understand biblical doctrine. I choose to be disciplined and wise in the management of those things that concern me and my future, so I will choose what is right and just and fair.
I ask for prudence, knowledge, and discretion. I seek, and I shall find. I knock, and doors will be opened. With Your help, I am becoming a wise person who is learning to listen so that I add to my learning. As a discerning person, I accept guidance [so I may be able to steer my course rightly].
I choose to read the Scriptures so that I understand proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise. I choose to delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night. In a multitude of counselors there is safety. I look for and listen to wise counselors and submit myself to the constant ministry of transformation by the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Living in a Polarized World of Darkness and Light
Father God, thank You for loving me and preparing me for such a time as this. Jesus is my Lord and as He is so am I in this world.
I choose not to be obsessed with getting my own advantage. I choose to forget myself long enough to lend a helping hand and walk in love while surrounded by a world of darkness. Christ and I are one; You are in me, testing and probing my every motive. You are working everything together to accomplish Your purpose as I seek to fulfill my mission in a world of darkness and outrage.
I choose to live as Your masterpiece re-created in Christ Jesus and avoid evil by worshiping Jehovah. The power of Your faithful love removes sin’s guilt and grip over me. I am working in a world of instant gratification and listening to people of other cultures and backgrounds who have walked where I’ve never walked.
You have given me the mind of Christ, and I bring my thoughts into alignment with Your thoughts. Your kingdom revelations will break open my understanding and unveil the deeper meaning of riddles. I choose to cling to Your words and receive discipline to demonstrate wisdom in all my relationships.
God, You will never give me the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives me mighty power, love, and self-control. I am going out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Father, use me to provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.
I am carrying the light-giving Message into the night. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Philippians 2:1-8, 14-16 MSG; Proverbs 16 TPT; Proverbs 1 TPT; Ephesians 2:10 NLT; 1 Timothy 1:7 TPT
